A dominant last quarter saw Glenorchy get a big win over Bridgewater at Weilly Park today, the Huskies never trailed for the entire game. But it took them until the last quarter to really stamp their dominance on the game. The honors were even at the first break, neither side were able to get away. Zoe Viney put the Ravens on the board late in the quarter to make scores level heading into the second quarter.
Glenorchy’s second goal to Naomi Hart kept them ahead of the Ravens, the Glenorchy midfield was in overdrive, but the Bridgewater defence was holding strong keeping the Glenorchy forwards from getting away. Once Erin Muir started to get more of the ball and ended up with 46 disposals and two goals Glenorchy started to click.
Chloe Parker had 27 disposals for the Raven, her sister Nicola Parker had 19 both were among the best for the Ravens. Zoe Viney led the Ravens ball winners with 44 disposals. Katie Juhnke returned to her best with 45 disposals for Glenorchy.
Rachael Harding was strong in defence for Glenorchy she was able to get 36 disposals and kept the ball from remaining in the defensive 50 for very long. The Huskies now have a 13-game winning streak and don’t look at all likely to lose.
The Ravens are back at home against the Ulverstone Stallions next week, while Glenorchy are home to Sorell. The Ravens will hope to get the win over the Stallions and keep themselves hunt for the double chance come finals time.
