West Coast Phoenix to join AFC

The Australian Football Council have today announced the formation of the West Coast Phoenix playing out of Perth, Western Australia in 2025. The Phoenix will be wearing navy, gold and red and will call Perth Stadium home for the upcoming season.

The Phoenix will join Fitzroy, Allies All-Stars as brand new clubs into the AFC next season with there to be another announcement in the future regarding another team joining the league. The Phoenix will be joining Perth as the two teams from WA in the AFC now.

West Coast Phoenix are also currently working on getting a Women’s Side up and running for the National Women’s Football League. It’s not yet known if the Phoenix will join next season or the season after.

Fitzroy are also yet to commit to bringing in a women’s side, whereas the Allies All-Stars have announced their own plans to start a women’s side and have started the recruitment process currently.

The West Coast Phoenix will begin to form their squad, while possibly targeting some members of rivals the Perth Scorpions. With the season slowly coming to an end the end of season moves start to become part of the agenda.
