Hurricanes consider Munn as new coach

The Hobart Hurricanes could change their coach after a tough loss to Canberra in their recent NWFL matchup. The Hurricanes are currently sitting 6th on the table, but they have been struggling this season and have had some injuries as well.

Hobart currently sit just two points behind fellow Tasmanian side North Launceston, the Robins having had a draw this season and have also been considering the future of their coach Blake Lockhart.

Lockhart has also been linked with a move to the Allies All-Stars men’s team that’s about to join the Australian Football Council next season. Lockhart has had experience previously coaching in the men’s league in Tasmania before making the move to coach the NWFL side.

Jesse Munn has been linked to the job with the Hobart Hurricanes, he’s also been linked with a move to the Allies All-Stars women’s side coming into the NWFL next season. It’s unsure yet how the Allies All-Stars will lineup, they have made a couple of signings already gaining Robyn Black, and Charli Paice for their team.

If Munn makes the move down to Tasmania, the Hurricanes will hope to make some big moves in the off-season, with also a draft being thrown around as a possibility for the 2025 season. The state of Tasmania has some talented players ready to step foot into the NWFL next season.

One player being heavily courted is Glenorchy’s Matilda Thompson who has been a breakout star of the TFLW, the Hobart Hurricanes would be keen to keep her in the state of Tasmania should a draft occur next season.
